Hello Everyone,
I have joined to learn what I can of new products, powertrains, within the RV industry, and of course to learn what others have to offer.
After quite a search of A & C Class units, I did not see what I thought I liked(?) First Rv so what was holding me back... All were used, as I do not like the initial cost & depreciation of new vehicles. Again, with the initial purchase I did not wish to make a big mistake bigger.
I did settle on a over the road, '79 Greyhound Bus conversion. Reasoning is that I much prefer a diesel unit, the robustness of construction of a bus, its service factor to run & run & run. Our traveling is and has been more traveling to NC, Fla, and others. I actually have never been in a campground do date.
I love the bus, but with its DD 6V92TA engine, I am looking to what is out there to eventually replace with a newer, cleaner, more efficent engine. I also will be replacing items within the coach, so your experience is sought.
I & my wife travel with our JR dog, longing for retirement and the time to explore more of our great country.
Looking quickly, this seems to be a very cheerful, informative group. I only hope that I can contribute that what I draw from this forum.
Hoping all your travels are wonderful !!
Gary

Tom & Katherine,
Thanks for the welcome, I have been up your way for NJ High School field hockey state finals..
I kinda feel like a fish outta water w/o a manufactured RV, but do have to confess that the two I really have a hankering for are the late GMC's, all fwd & inline rear wheels, and the Dodge Travco. 73 Winnebago Brave as well.
I settled on something which was not a project, but operative and just needs the routine maintenance.
If I can be of any assistance I am located below Atlantic City.
Have a Great Day,
Gary

73 Brave has always been a stand out rig. I remember as an 11 year old (in 1973) seeing those on the road as Dad chugged along in the 68 Ford Fairlane pulling a Coleman popup. We've owned three Winn/Itasca motorhomes so far so those old Braves probably started it all.

Hey Gary,
Good to see another Jersey camper in the ranks. I just found this site as well and found it to be very friendly and informative. The best thing I found are all the sub forums and groups. Traveling with a MC, I found they even had a forum for that as well.
Glad to see you've joined in.

Gosh, I did not know I have made soooo many friends...
Thanks for all the well wishes.
Depchief, You might not recognize SP, with the construction to the circle, sewer & drainage piping, widening of roads, new bridge to OC, and the worst is the closing of the Pearl Restraunt/ Tap Room....
I am in OC, but keep the coach in Woodbine, aslept in a hanger.
Thanks to all & If I can assist in any way reach out.
Gary
