Jim & Connie:

Hi from Casa Grande, AZ, and, a BIG WELCOME to the iRV2 gang.

We sure liked your New Mexico area. What part of the state do you live in?

We just attended our first Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta this past Oct. WHAT an event !! Didn't anticipate it being such a wonderfully, thrilling experience as it turned out to be. We'll definitely return, and will find outselves spending some more time in your New Mexico. It's beautiful!

Again, WELCOME.

Steve & Lynette

Thanks to everyone for the nice Welcome. We are from Silver City (North of Deming), NM next to the Gila National Forest (around 5500 ft.) so we do get winter here and 3 or 4 snows too. Winterized the Motorhome for now until we take off for Mission, TX for Jan-Mar. 2011. We have taken 2 shorter trips closer to home for shakedowns (Deming and Benson, AZ.) so now ready for a much longer trip for us. It should be quite a trip for us. Motorhome is doing good with no big problems---always some small things to fix up. May have some questions in the Monaco Owners Forum later.

Hey Jim!
Just replied to your query about the ladder mount bike rack and noticed in your post that you are retired FAA - small world! I retired from the FAA in Jan 2008. Spent my career at Atlanta Center and in Traffic Management. Welcome indeed!

Welcome and congratulations! You might want to consider attending The Gypsy Journal rally put on by Nick and Terry Russell in Yuma AZ in March (not sure which week). You can find out all the info at gypsyjournal.net. We attended their eastern rally in Elkhart IN in Sept. and learned so much about the lifestyle, technical and personal info that was just what we needed as we are just starting out in the lifestyle as well. Also Nick is very entertaining as well! They have many seminars and vendors as well.
Good luck and post often of your travels!
Rod

Hi Jim,

Welcome to the highway. I retired from PHL in 1996 and have been on the road since then. I'm new to this forum but not new to the RV lifestyle. Let me know if I can help you in any way. You are "cleared for takeoff."

CK
