I just wanted to introduce myself to the community and thank everyone for having us aboard. We are a family of 4 new to the RV lifestyle. My kids are still young at 7 and 11 and still enjoy hanging out with mom and dad. So I thought I would do this before they get too old and in November of 2008 we bought a 1990 Mallard 32 footer on a Chevy P30 chassis. I replaced the tires, radiator, and front coil springs. Our first trip was from central PA to Fort Wilderness (Disney) Florida, 1100 miles one way . We did that in February of 2009. The Mallard performed flawlessly and we had a great experience. So we went camping all over eastern PA, Delaware, and central New Jersey over the summer of 2009. We can’t wait ‘til summer rolls around again so we can take the old girl out for more fun and camping. I’m sure I’ll be popping in from time to time for advice and to share our experiences.

where in Central PA

Excited to hear from another RV'er in Central PA !

We live just outside of Harrisburg and have an 11 year old son.

Like you, we can't wait until camping season starts up again.

Got a few trips planned already but it's also fun to make plans at the last minute and head out.

Welcome! We are currently in Kings Bay GA. Trying to beat the cold and snow. We are from Smethport, PA about 90 miles south of Buffalo NY. We started as you, years ago camping with the kids. Now they are all grown up, and we are doing our first snowbird adventure. Best Wishes and enjoy!

Welcome to iRV2, tedlou! Can I assume you're digging out from the snow & bracing for the next round?

Two Forums for you to check out here would be Mid-Atlantic Region (as you're on the eastern side of PA) & North Central Region (in case you decide to motor west). Both have active groups & post campout information in these Forums. Listings are a bit slow right now, but will be picking up as we get closer to spring. You're welcome to join in.

Safe travels & hope to see you.

Welcome!

We started in a motorhome when our boys were 4, 8 and 10 years old in 1998.

Two are now in college and one in high school and they still go on vacations with us. They have input on where we go, sometimes bring some friends, and we're off. 100,000 miles and 48 states later, I would not trade those times with my wife and sons for anything!

We're right over the PA/NJ border 2 miles south of I78.

You just can't beat this, and more importantly, you will remember this for the rest of you life whatever happens. No one can ever take this away from you

We hope to see you on the road and all the best from us

Hi PA Friends;
Bama fan here and looking forward to the resumption of the Bama/Penn State rivalry series. This fall in Tuscaloosa, and next year I want to tailgate there at Beaver Stadium. Although I assume the opposing team tailgaters are pushed to the swamp area... lol.
Anyway welcome to iRV2

Tedlou

Welcome, there are a lot of knowledgable people here and are more than willing to answer any questions you have.

I am also new to the RV lifestyle and bought our Class A in November 2009 and have only been dreaming about the upcoming year, if the snow ever melts.

We are located in Altoona not far from State College.

Enjoy
Ed
