Hi to Y'all. We are just starting to use our "new to us" class A MH and I have enjoyed lurking around this forum. We used to camp years ago (wife grew up camping - we still have the Sears Ted Williams family tent her family used in the 50's) but have just started back now that we are retired and empty nesters. Since I am the one in the family that can't relax, I would like to learn more about workcamping and how to hook into these work opportunities. I hope to add some value to this forum via the tech forums since that is my background.
Thanks to all of you for your shared experience on this forum.
Oh, by the way, contrary to what you see on the news, all folks from South Carolina are not neanderthal dolts - only the politicians are.

Oh! I just noticed you are from Blythewood. We were just up in Columbia this week visiting a family friend, shopping, Camping World, and seeing a movie.

I think you'll find this to generally be one of the friendliest RV forums, with something for just about everyone, regardless of the type of RV you own. Don't be shy about posting questions, or in jumping in with your opinion and experiences.
That said, we own an RV property in SC, on Lake Greenwood. South Carolina RV Sites : Luxury Class A Motorcoach RV Resort : RV Lots For Sale : RV Rental Lots : Waterfront : Lakeside South Eastern United States Unfortunatley we don't get to spend a lot of time there, yet. You may want to put it on your list to check out.
You didn't describe your MH in your profile. What is it?

Sorry. I am just discovering the profile features here and will add that info.
We have a 2006 Georgetown 370TS and one old Lab/Golden Retriever mix named "Gus".
He loves to ride in the cab of my truck, but he is very hesitant about the MH. He is 11 years old and like most Labs he has hip problems and falls sometimes. He does not like tile or hardwood floors because of the footing. He is having a tough time adapting to the MH (it has linoleum/carpet). Hopefully he will adapt over time.
Thanks for your warm welcome.

Yes, we have been several times. We usually go to one of the practice rounds and enjoy that more since it is a little less "formal". The golfers interact with the crowd during that time. If you have never been you need to go once. It is a class act by the Augusta National. Parking on the grounds is free (until filled) and food there is cheaper than you can get at a fast food place. (e.g ham and cheese sandwich $2.00, soft drink $1.50, etc.). The place is immaculate and beautiful in April (dogwoods, azaleas, etc.). Practice round tickets are $35 per day and are alloted via a lottery system. Go on line and apply.

"Gus" may like carpet hall runners, they work well in the living/kitchen area as well as the bedroom too. It helps with the traction/footing issue and being part lab I am sure he likes any water that may be in the area. The runner helps keep the coach clean and they can be easily washed.

Thanks for the suggestion. We had to use the runners in the kitchen so Gus would cross the flooring.

Welcome Greg and Elizabeth,
Glad to have you here on the forum. We have some friends that live in Augusta. I was stationed there once a long long time ago, but that's a whole different story. We'll be in the general area next month. We'll be going up to Gaffney to get the coach serviced after attending the FMCA rally in Perry, GA. Come join us at the rally.
