Good Morning All! My wife Andrea and I recently purchased a 2012 Winnebago ONE 30RE Travel Trailer. We are new to the RV world and have been excited to start a new adventure. We have learned a lot and still have a lot more to learn about the systems etc.

One thing we learned is that a new RV can have some gassing as our RV is currently uninhabitable with formaldehyde gassing. We have tried all the things recommended, but it is still there. So far I have aired it out with all the windows open and also the drawers and cabinet doors open. I have wiped it down with Vinegar water, I have vacumned with a HEPA filter vacumn. I even purchased a SPT AC2102 Heavy duty Air Cleaner with 4 different filters including a VOC filter. So far no luck as it still is gassing.

The Winnebago rep called yesterday and said to close it up with the AC off and let the Florida sun bake it for a week. So last night I turned off the AC and closed it up. We will see if that does the trick. We sure hope so as we are ready to enjoy our new travel trailer.

If anyone out there has any ideas we are open to suggestions!

Thanks for this forum and happy trails to all!

Andrea and Wayne

Andrea and Wayne, Welcome to the forum and congrats on the TT. I'm not sure about baking in the sun, but after it has for a while, I would open it back up to air out. Hope you don't have to camp with gas masks. lol Good luck...

Welcome to the forum ,I am from up north in the Thomasville rd. area ...
I have not heard too much about gassing, unless it was just built it should have already been "baked" while sitting on the lot. Did you get it from Camping World? if so, there is one just like it on the lot,you could see if it has the same smell. Ours still has the new car smell ,but nothing like you are talking about .

We did recently purchase from Camping World Midway FL. I looked on the RV and it shows it built in January if I read it correctly. This floor plan is exactly what we wanted after looking at the ones they had available. We haven't given up and are going to do everything we can to remedy the issue in the RV. Thanks for responding.
