My wife and I enjoy riding motorcycles, and getting outdoors, so we decided to buy a toy hauler. We decided on a bumper pull so our Ram 1500 could pull it. Turns out the used market for a bumper pull toy hauler is pretty slim, so we ended up buying a new 2019 Catalina Coachmen 27TH.

After a couple of trips, I did a lot of research and realized that even though the truck could PULL the trailer, the tongue weight was pushing us really close to the axle rating. Turns out that the tongue weight on a toy hauler without any toys is not 10-15% of the trailer weight. My trailer weighs roughly 6000 lbs, tongue weight is over 1000 lbs. Had to argue this with the service manager in order to exchange my weight distribution hitch bars to bigger ones. Then I ended up finding a deal on a Ram 2500 diesel, so no more truck worries.

I’ve heard about this forum a handful of times, gotten a little info from here already, so I figured I’d sign up and probably toss a few questions out there now that I’m getting the hang of everything.

To try and avoid . Is there a good thread, or website to figure out generator sizing? I'm sure the topic has been discussed at least once on these forums , and don't like starting a new thread on something that has already been answered 7-8 thousand times. I have a pretty good idea of what I need, but would like to hear from some experienced people on the subject.
