New member from Western NC

We just joined this forum a week ago.
We are early retirees and been RVing for 6 years.
Live in the mountains of NC near the Blue Ridge Parkway.
We usually travel south each winter.
1994 Fleetwood Coronado Class A 30' 454.
Also have a 13 foot TT for hard to get to places and deep forest camping.
We usually travel with two Dual Sport motorcycles (Yamaha XT225's)
The motorcycles are our transportation when we stop somewhere.
We enjoy traveling and exploring areas with the small motorcycles.

Boy that sounds like a beautiful place to live! Any photos? And what are your temps during the summer?

We are new and exploring all avenues of FT places to live.

We live at 1700 feet elevation, usually cool enough that you dont need AC.
We actually live in the Pisgah National Forest.
It is a little place called Mortimer, NC. (N35 59.885 W81 44.699)
There is a US forest campground just one mile away called Mortimer Campground.
We have to drive 8 miles of dirt winding road #1328 by the famous Wilson Creek to get in here.
When it gets too hot here, we can move up the up the mountain to the Parkway with an elevation of 3400 feet and its always cool there.

Welcome

We just returned from two weeks at Mt Pisgah, one of our favorite campgrounds.

Miss the cool weather,

Ron

Having an RV and living in the mountains has its advantages, there are about 150-200 campgrounds within 100 miles of our home. Lots to choose from.
