Hello, I am happy to be a new member to this organization. My wife and I have a 2003 Holiday Rambler Sceptor 40' motorhome. We bought the motorhome new, but like most, still feel we have much to learn, especially as we travel more.

We will soon be traveling to Florida for the winter, and we like to move around every weeks or two. Last winter was our first year in Florida and we basically moved down the east coast to around the middle of the state and then headed to the west coast and worked our way up some of the state before heading home in late March.

We would be interested in hearing from others about campgrounds/areas of Florida they have experienced and enjoy the most. We are active travelers and go to different areas to see/experience the attractions in that area.

Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.

Mike & Ruth Lauman

Hello Mike and Ruth! Enjoy your winter trip. I don't have much experience with Florida campgrounds, especially for extended stay. We have only done the "stop near the interstate" when passing through. For that, the KOA near Milton (outside Pensacola) was a pleasant overnight spot, though there was some freeway noise.

Glad you decided to join us. Hope your trip to Florida is relaxing and lot's of fun. We have been in Zephyrhills, FL for the past two weeks and the weather couldn't be better. Two days without much sun but the avg temp has been 75. A little cooler today but with promise that the mid 70's are only another day away. Well have a great Holiday, be safe and Happy Motoring!!!!!

Welcome Mike & Ruth. If you're stopping this far north, Topsail Hill and Henderson Beach state parks in Destin or both great. Topsail has full hook-ups with cable. I don't believe that they have installed the sewers (dump station only) at Henderson Beach yet. Dinning and shopping in Destin is always a treat.

Thanks for the information regarding Topsail and Henderson parks. We are thinking of stopping in that area during our return late March or early April.

Appreciate the tips.

Mike
