New Member Hello

I decided to join when I saw campground reviews. I always enjoy hearing what others have to say. I have been camping all of my life. My family "camped across the United States" six times starting when I was 6 months old. I'm a little older now and have been camping with my husband our entire married life. We started out simple with a tent and moved up to a travel trailer after renting a class C out in Colorado one summer. We also enjoy boating so we traded the travel trailer for a used Class C so we could pull the boat. We live in south Florida and spend a lot of time camping in the beautiful Florida Keys. I personally love the state parks down there but they are very hard to get in to (need to book 11 months in advance) but I do occasionally get lucky with a last minute cancellation. I was able to get a last minute reservation last year for both Father's Day and July 4th at John Pennekamp. A lot of our friends like public fancy campgrounds (or RV Resorts) as they like the full hookups that the Keys state parks did not offer. Now that the State Parks in the Keys have put in the full hookups reservations will surely be even harder to get.

We are both middle aged professionals who camp with our two teenage children and we usually camp with a group of the same. The kids enjoy hanging out together.

Welcome, We have camped in the South Florida area & the keys with a tent. Sometimes it is easier to get into the state parks with a tent. We always carry it in our MH just in case.

Welcome to the forum. Many happy and safe miles. I too like the state parks in Louisiana.
