hey all! Glad to have found this. We have been considering an RV for about a year. We are going to the RV show in Dallas on Thursday. Right now we are thinking about a Keystone 3341 5th wheel. Seems to have what we are looking for and we have a F250 and would trade that for a 350. So, that would cover us as far as towing it. We are concerned about the length of all of that though. Seems like we might have trouble finding campgrounds for that size rig? We were hoping to camp at state and national parks to save money but it seems like that might be a problem.
We are brand new to this - excited but sort of nervous. My husband retired last April. We have a business that we can do from the road IF we can get cell and hopefully wifi. That is a must.
We will be traveling with our dog - honestly that is the main reason we are thinking an RV instead of just traveling and staying in hotels - we think she would do better.
So any thoughts or advice would be most appreciated! We are looking forward to it!

Welcome. Lots of good folks and good info here. Take your time searching and remember floor plan is the number one thing to choose. Good luck in your search.

You will be amazed at the state parks that can handle that size rig and more. Federal, not so much.

Howdy from another North Texas RVer. Welcome to IRV2. You will find answers here to many questions that come up. We travel with 2 dachshunds in our 37' class A pulling a toad. You shouldn't have any trouble finding commercial campgrounds for a rig that size. Some older State and National parks may be a tight fit, but most of those campgrounds post length limits on their websites when you make reservations. You can always contact the park directly if your not sure about size limitations. Some of our favorite campgrounds are in State and National parks. On a side note, the DW and I are planning on going to Dallas show Thursday. Maybe we'll see you there.

Are you members of the Elks? Elks RV parks are $20 to $30 but you have to be a member.
