Good afternoon to all! I am new to the forum, but not new to camping. My grandparents had a couple of different RV's when I was growing up, my wife and I have had a pop up for several years, as well as an assortment of tents. I have a 7 year old daughter and a son who will turn 4 tomorrow, and being a paranoid parent has gotten the best of me. I really enjoyed our pop up, but I found myself wanting something fully contained with a bathroom. I don't like the idea of the wife or daughter having to walk/drive/be alone crossing a campground to a bath house in the middle of the night. We have been discussing/casually looking to buy an older Class C motor home, low to mid 20' size for a year or so, but not too seriously. Then this unit just kind of fell into my lap. It is a 1977 ElDorado 27'. I was more just curious than serious until we went to look at it. It has a Chevy Chassis (a must for me...Die Hard Bowtie guy here), and it has bunk beds in the back! I have never seen a unit this age with the bunks, and that pretty much sold us. At some point I am assuming most of the "House" upholstery was redone, as well as possible painting outside. I have never seen a rig this age that was a pretty blue. I have found remnants of old "Harvest Orange" and brown carpet under the cabinets, and the cab upholstery is still tan/brown.
As far as condition, the roof has been recently coated, all the windows seal good, AC works great, haven't check the fridge yet. It still has bias 16.5 tires on it, and I am going to put 2 new tires on the front immediately, and slowly replace the rest as needed. It has a fuel delivery issue (old rotten rubber hose sucking air somewhere), but other than that, it runs beautifully. I have some scrambling to do getting it ready, because we plan to head to a family reunion in Kansas over Labor Day with it. So enough rambling, and here are the pics!

The good news is some of the cosmetic tlc has been done. I went thru everything yesterday in the coach...only problem I have found so far is I need to replace the city water connection. There was a small drip where the water line connects to it and I managed to break the plastic nippless tightening the line up.
