Welcome. You are joining a good group of folks here with lots of good info to share.

Did you test drive both? Floor plan? Towing capacity, WT restrictions on both?

Good luck

Enjoy the adventure.

not test drive yet, towing capacity around the same, floor plan and equipment better on the Coachmen,
my concern is more about the quality, construction and guarantee in between those 2 manufacturers

Keep in mind..
Your 1st coach is a learning tool..
When You tour/view "In Person" any perspective coach..
View it First with all slides retracted,
If the coach is fully usable without the slides extended, then give it a second look.

(Think wally-docking,rest areas,truckstops...any where that you cannot/do not have room for the slides to be extended)

BUY USED! & buy one with everything you "think" you want and will need..
As You will make mistakes and have booboo's We all have.....(sometimes more than twice..)
If the perspective RV seems small but Do-Able..after a week of being confined indoors due to weather...It WILL become excruciatingly TINY.....

Within a year or two you will discover..about the RV

What you love about the RV...
What you can kinda-sorta tolerate with the RV..
And what you absolutely hate about that !@#$%^%$#@! RV.
Then you can go get what you should have gotten in the first place..
Happy Hunting

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I'm not familiar with those rigs. Hope you make the right decision!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I will second the advice on buying used, it will hurt less in a year or two when you realize what mistakes you made in picking your first coach. Simply put no matter how much you research things, the chances are very high that you will not pick the best coach for you the first time around, because you simply don't know what you don't know.

What are your thoughts on slam lock vs twist lock latches, how about side hinge vs top hinged cargo doors? How about relative size of fresh, black and gray water tanks? These or the sort of things you will develop an opinion on with experience.

both are good brands. you need to pick the one that fits your needs. it takes some time living in one to know your true needs vs wants

Have you looked at the Entegra Odyssey 31F? When I was looking at Class C’s with my mom I found that the Entegra/Jayco’s were much more well built than the Coachmen and Forest River models.

We have a 2017 Fleetwood Flair 31B LXE which is the same floorplan as the 31e. We absolutely love it and it has been very reliable! We are a family of 5 with a 10yr old, 8 yr old and 5 year old. We have gone up and down the entire west coast and it has been very comfortable. We took some friends with us on one trip for a total of 9 people on a 4 day trip and everyone was comfortable. I would definitely recommend this coach if the floorplan fits your needs and likes.

I think you can negotiate the price down lower on the used ones.....don’t take the advertised price as gospel

We almost bought new. Went with a used one to try things out. Now we have a hard time upgrading to newer as the old one fits us so well. Used was less than the first years depreciation on the new one. Warranty is not a big deal on a quality used coach. Yes you will be covered with new but at a price.
