New Member, Old Trailer!

Hello, my hubby and I just bought a 1993 Terry 26T travel trailer! And are so excited! (Even the hubby, who up until now has enjoyed out tent ventures but grumbles and complains thru all the before and after work!)

This weekend gave it the once over testing all the water lines and tanks. Repaired toilet lines. Tightened all the other lines. Replaced one of two batteries and the propane hoses. Got the cob webs out of the brake connector and the refrigerator valve and both are running great! Heater, stove, oven, and microwave all work. We think the AC works too, but at 60 degrees outside, who can tell?!

Now we have to figure out how to transport the generator my hubby bought! Powers everything great, and got an awesome price. But when hubby and the salesperson lifted it into his car, he didn't consider that his wife would be having to help toss around that 147 lbs with him from now on! Looking into all sorts of ideas. Would love to hear about solutions everyone has come up with already.

Then the only other thing we would like to do is replace the built in stereo/cassette unit, with something that would play cd's and preferably have USB/AUX port! Any suggestions?

if your hubby ever put a stero in a car isnt much different..little long speaker wire depending on many speakers your adding. if not, take it to best buy they will hook you up with free install..they take the work out of it..
cant help much with your generator issue..maybe if you got a couple pics..one of your rig and one of the gen..maybe someone can come up with something to help ya, good luck and happy travels!

You must have a truck to tow that trailer. Just put the generator in the back of the truck. Seeing how you only replaced one battery out of two, make sure they are the same type of battery ie both deep cycle marine. Its better to replace them in pairs. The reason I suggest this is I read on a different thread where they replaced one of the two batteries. One was a normal deep cycle and the new one was a gel battery deepcycle. Apparently they charge at different rates and it screwed up the charging cycle and kept tripping the saleman disconnect. Took them some time to figure out the problem. Well our tow vehicle is Cadillac Escalade Esv so we don't want to put generator or gas in the back of that due to fumes :( We did match the battery type. Didn't think about pairing them up though. So still looking for generator stow solution. Read the pros n cons on "bumper" racks. Our trailer does even have the wimpy bumper most due. It is a purely decorative hinged "bumper" that folds down to stow sewer hose between taillights! In addition trailer nearly bottoms out when backing onto driveway so can't extend anything behind too much. This model has batteries stowed in tongue And propane/spare stowed in compartment at front of trailer so tongue mounting the generator is a no go there!

Latest brilliant idea is to remove faux bumper. Mount a double pint hitch to the frame bringing it up immediately behind trailer no further than original bumper, then putting a raised platform on there. And also mounting a PVC tube at platform level for sewer hose.

Local RV places don't seem to think carting the generator on rear will offset the tongue of any significance.

What do you think?

Building rear mount you describe will work good. Don't run genny with any rear windows open. The exhaust can be deadly, make you sick for sure.

Awesome trailer!!! I have a 24c and love it!!! It pains me to see it leave us in a few months. That rack seems like a good idea as long as you can rig it up so it's strong enough but it sounds like a loud one too, you may not want to bolt it down as you could find yourself chaining it to a far off tree with an extention cord to cut the noise down
