New Member: Prospective Full Timer

Hi,
My name is Bill and my wife is Donna. We will become full timers sometime in the spring or summer of next year. Have been reading the IRV2 Forums and have been impressed with the amount of information and knowledge i have found. Donna and I look forward to being part of this. We have owned motorhomes and 5th wheels since the mid 80's and love the RV lifestyle. We are currently in a 29ft Open Range 5th wheel. A little tight for us but ok for now. Our full time experiance will start with a diesel pusher, 36 to 40 ft. We are currently looking at a 2012 Monaco Knight 36pft. I would like some feedback from owners or anyone that might have an opinion regarding a few features.
For a 37' 4" coach, it has a 213 in. wheelbase. Seems shorter than most of that size which leaves me wondering about the ride quality. With a 50 degree wheel cut and the short wheelbase I would think it would be very manuverable but would like some feedback from owners about the ride. Also would like some feedback on the performance of the engine, problems, maintenance, etc. Dealers have made claims of 10 and 12 mpg which I feel like may be a streach; again would like some feedback from owners.
And any feedback concerning the Monaco brand would be appreciated. I have already read of some water heater issues on the forum.
We started RVing in a 24ft Class C in the mid 80's and it took us almost 20 years to wear it out. Moved to a 37ft Montana 5th wheel until 2011 when we downsized to the Open Range 5th wheel. We are looking forward to our full time adventure, getting back into a motorhome and seeing more of this beautiful land we live in. We are hoping the Monaco will be a good choice.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Bill & Donna! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad to have you join the group! I would suggest that you go over to the Manufacturers area of the forum and then click on Monaco. You'll find lots of nice folks there who can answer any questions you have. We have been very happy with our Monaco! Good luck & God bless!
