Hi:

I have a 2008 F150 and I'm pulling a 2009 Chaparral Lite 5er. I've gone from the 19 ft. HiLo to a 23 foot motorhome since 2007 and I hope that this will be the unit that does the job for me and wife. Truck pulls nicely but suspension is suspect so I'm putting on RideControl 96-8539 Air Lift kit. Retired and living in Florida . I've looked at some of the posts and I'm very pleased that this group exists. Take care and looking forward to getting sound advice from the forums. By the way, any comments or cautions on the Air Lift kit?

Bob

Welcome to IRV2!

Where are you from originally? I envy your having been able to retire to St. Augustine.

Remember, the air lift kit does not increase the GVWR of the truck, it only helps level your load. On that new of a truck, if it needs help leveling, it's probably overloaded. What's the pin weight on that 5th wheel? What's the load capacity of the truck?

It's not the leveling that caused me to look at air bag, it was the bottoming out when I hit fair size bump. Pulls great and rides very level when not hitting a bump. Not certain what the pin weight is but I think it is about 1100 lbs. 5er is in shop so I don't have access. Thanks for the comments.

Forgot to say that we retired from WV. Wif'e's father was Spanish and we had come to St. Augustine on many occasions. Bought a condo and on one July visit we simply did not want to go home so we went home, retired and we were back as retirees in a month and a half.
