My wife and I just traded our 2006 Arctic Fox 32.5 for a new AF 27-5L that we'll tow with a 2013 Ram 3500. We have three trips planned for this year that will take us up and down the west coast and east into Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. So far we love the 27-5L except for the limited outdoor storage and a battery disconnect switch that doesn't isolate the batteries.

Welcome from a former Washingtonian. I haven't RVed over much of the area, but I've driven and flown across much of the PNW. Hell, I've driven across much of the US west of the Mississippi (North Dakota and New Mexico being the parts I haven't).

As for the batteries, good luck on that. I'm a fairly new aircraft mechanic and electrical has never been a strong suit. That said, my first look would be to see what that switch is even connected to. As it sounds like a used trailer, it wouldn't surprise me if a previous owner connected the battery incorrectly, or intentionally bypassed the switch.
