New Old Guy

My RV life started out as a child. My parents had a 1957 Ford Country Squire Wagon, red n white with a Santa Fe trailer. Then we moved up to a 1959 F100 1/2 ton ,312,3 on the tree, with a LARGE Open Road . We loaded the ass end of the camper with a 1964 Honda Trail 90.

My adult life started in a Datsun PU with shell. Numerous truck /campers. First motorhome was a mid '80's Honey class B. It spent it's time with me trying to pull itself apart.
Then more truck/campers until the '83 Pace Arrow 30ft. Beautiful and decently built. Then I picked up a 1972 Balboa 18ft glass B+ that I still have today,15 yrs. Wife always loves her Pace Arow but I fell head over heels for this Mini.
Stats...'72 Chevy 1 ton van with clam shell glass body, built by Jensen Marine from '68 to '73 on Ford, Dodge and Chevy. You can see parts of the sawzalled van body underneath. With a Boat mindset they built this out of high quality Marine grade everything. the floorboards are fiberglassed and walls & roof are foam filled.
It was a dirty mess when I picked it up in Malibu in '02 and I cleaned and polished for a week before the wife would come in. It only had 46K miles on it but had been undercover most of its life ,the last before me was under low hanging trees.
The exterior minus the wheels and LED tail lights are original/unrestored.
The interior, finish ,carpet , upholstery are original. We put new blinds and microwave. I did a few upgrades to the drivetrain, air bags all around electronic ignition, exhaust.
My life has taken some sharp turns. Long story short I 've out lived 2 wives,21yrs apart. But enough about that ,but it changed the rest of my life for the rest of my life.
For the last 7 years I've been attending Early Bronco 66-77, events here in Oregon. The MH really isn't up to the task of pulling the bronco, remember the motor is 45 yrs old. It will get a refresh some day with a 700R4 and lowend motor, some day. In the mean time I picked up a '97 F250HD 7.3 diesel,1 owner and found a matching Lance Legend 500 ,four months later .It'll do the tugging for now.
Well that's it in a Giant nutshell, long but true.
