New owner, taking the big move!

Just picked up a 1995 Coachmen Catalina 28ft with a 454. The unit is in great shape and everything works. Included are all the original manuals and service records. The only thing so far I want to do is replace the weather cracked decals but the good thing is I own a sign company! The unit only has 70k miles and seems to be well taken care off, the inside is all original (not for long, the old tv and VCR has to go) including the curtains and everything looks perfect.

I am moving to Florida end of February from Oklahoma so will see how good it really is. So far I made a 120 mile trip to pick it up and it drove lke a dream!

Glad to be on the forum.

Welcome to the forum. From your description it sounds like you have a great unit. However, the tires just might be original, and would be far past their useable life. Did you check the tire date codes?

Hi Gfxhenk, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Coachman. George is giving good advice on checking the dates on the tires. If they're original they need to go.

Thanks everyone, I will crawl underneath the unit tomorrow and check. The DOT code is not on the outside. The tires are GoodYear G 159 19.5 From what I can tell they are not the original tires. The tires look like new, hardly any thread wear and no visible defects at all. No cuts, scratches or scrapes on the walls or the thread. The milage on the coach is 72k.

Darn I have to replave the tires. They are 10 years old! At least I bought the coach cheap due to the crappy decals. As a sign shop owner I can not believe that on a 50K plus unit they skimp on the graphics by using cheap vinyl.

Check FMCA pricing. Usually a better deal.
