Smile New Owners

Hello; We just bought a 1986 Winnebago. It had been sitting over 10 years in a shed. After a good scrub down of the interior, cleaning the rust out of the gas tank and getting the generator fixed, it's looking pretty good. This is our first RV. It didn't come with a single manual. Thank you for this blog and you tube so we could learn about it. Happy trails! Perry & Polly

Glad you joined us here.

If your Winnebago has been in storage for ten years, I would suspect that your tires may have aged out. Check your dates on the sidewalls. If they are older then 7 years have them inspected before you drive it. I would also have the belts and hoses looked at.

As well as the tires, everything rubber - hoses, brake lines, belts etc. At LEAST check them, probably better to replace them.

Thumbs up Good advice

Thank you for the good advice. The great guys who cleaned out our tank fixed and checked all the hoses, fluid levels, gaskets, etc.. We will check on the tires though.
