2012 Serrano 34M update

Sorry for the delay in my update I promised on the 34M. What a ride! Got the handling to my satisfaction by installing Safe-T-Plus on the steering and a Blue Ox Tiger Trac on the rear suspension. What a difference in driving and handling. No tail wag and you only know a semi is blowing by when you hear the tractor at your drivers side. Now with Dometic low profile A/C-Heatpumps!! Both the front and rear quit within 7 days of camping. They were both replaced, but viberated so bad you couldn't stand to be in the unit. Ended up driving back to the Thor factory in Elkhart, IN. They worked on it for 3 days and resolved the problem. Very nice people to work with. They gave me great customer service and stood behind their product!! I now have 5200 miles on the RV and I'm averaging 11.8 mpg, towing a 4500# SRX. My best was 13.7 mpg on a trip without the toad. Love the Maxxforce7 engine/Allison Transmission combination. Purrs @1400 rpm @ 60mph. More quiet on the road than the V-10 gasser our friends drive. Will be giving it a real test on our 5 week trip out west to Yellowstone/Mt Rushmore and more.. Product update: Serrano's are no longer being produced as of this summer. Have safe travels!!

I have the 31x ; had over 30 defects needing repair. The warranty company said they dont fix bad engineering! Poor design just on the slides alone leaves me with leaks not repairable without major investment. The livability factor also is very poor. Do a search in the thor section for my issues. Going to trade it in as soon as possible.
Oh also the chassi is outstanding.

Not sure what all they did to help with the A/C vibration. Mentioned something about replacing the rubber mounts under the compressor with softer ones. Also, make sure the a/c units are torqued properly to the roof. Suggest you check with a dealer for proper torque. During my visit, they also repaired some minor problems.
