New to Class A DP from Oregon

Hi from Bob and Jeannie in beautiful Oakridge Oregon.
Wednesday we purchased a 1998 Newmar Dutch Star from Camping World Colburg/Eugene.
Happy to say we believe we got a great deal and hope to enjoy this coach for a few years to come.
We started out RVing a couple months ago in a 1995 Serro Scotty Highlander 25' class C diesel motorhome. We traveled from our home in Oregon to Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and back home. It was nearly a 5 thousand trip, staring on a Saturday and returning home 10 days later on a Thursday evening. The last day of the trip I became barn sour, and drove from Wells Nevada to Oakridge I believe that was a 12 hour near 600 mile day. The Scotty averaged 15.53 mpg for the entire trip. Today we had to trim our house roof overhang to be able to park the Dutch Star in the driveway. Glad to have family near by to help with the deconstruction. Tomorrow we should have the new roof line back together, about 20 inches shorter. Hopefully we will get the motorhome out of the front yard then.
We hope to take the Class A out after the holiday. It will be a short trip to Brookings.
Hope to get familiar with this coach before we head out.
Happy RVing .. Bob

Bob and Jeanne, glad you're aboard. Best of luck with your new to you DP. A few short trips close to home is a good idea to "shake down" any unforeseen problems before you head out on another 5000 mi adventure. Enjoy your adventures and be safe.

Welcome to iRV2 and the Newmar family.
I've had my 99 for 4 years and am very happy to be a Newmar owner.
Lots of help available here in the forums for any issues that you have .
Safe travels.

EDIT: As you're preparing for trips check out the paper work ( manuals ) you have for your coach's systems. A lot of info is still available online but a few of the manufacturers of the original equipment are no longer in business. I do have manuals for all my coaches equipment. Anything your missing, just ask .
