Smile New to forum and 5th wheeling

Just saying hello, should be buying a Crusader 295RST in a couple days and pulling it with 2006 Dodge 2500 4x4 Diesel. Just getting the truck checked out and repaired. Might be heading South this winter.
I will probably have a few questions after since we are new to this.
Thanks in advance.

Picked up 5th wheel

Oct 15
Went though orientation on systems, checked out trailer, drove 15 km, which is less than 10 miles and while leaving hwy on exit ramp drivers side rear trailer tire fell off, came to a stop slowly and pulled off to side, tire followed and hit spare tire on rear of trailer, checked nuts on other tire on drivers side and they where also loose. Called dealership and they came and re-installed tire and picked up trailer, damage to skirting (J wrap).
Oct 16
Dealer contacted me and wanted to fix skirting and replace rims. I informed him that was unacceptable due to other stresses on axle systems and frame.
I let him know I wanted a new trailer and the problems was from their neglegence and not tightening wheel nuts on that side of unit.
Told him to talk with owners and get back to me right away.
They found another trailer the same and on Oct 19 picked up the second new trailer. All seems good with this one. Have a torque wrench and check nuts daily.

Wow! I presume the dealer you are talking about is the trailer dealer you bought the original trailer from.... Good service! They will simply fix the original trailer and put it back on the lot.

Welcome to the world of RVing and potential snowbirding!

We are down in Calgary, and get to Beaumont a few times a year; I have family in Leduc.

Going south from here gets tricky after 1 or 2nd week of November; watch the weather specifically the I-15 Monida Pass in Montana. I watch the Montana and Idaho weather cameras as well.

I can share good stopping points along the way down to SoCal or Arizona, if you wish.

Brian
