Welcome to the forum Gonzo. Sounds like you have the truck for your endeavor now just the 5th wheel. Take your time and break the wife in slowly. Hopefully you'll both be able to enjoy the experience. Be safe and Happy Motoring!!!!

Never thought the national parks couldn't handle the large 5th wheels? That's something to consider.. What is the largest that can go into the national parks? We've been looking at the DRV 36 & 38 footers.. (The 36TKSB3, 38TKSB3, 38RSSB3 floor plans) All are large rear lounge, side isle units.
I think the wife will be okay with it all IF I can pry her away from her job for a bit.. (she thinks she is indispensable & the company will come to a screeching halt without her, she has use or loose days now!) I know I would never have a chance in hell to get her to leave in a tent.. We have frequented the RV shows and the internet.. it didn't take much to get bitten by the bug to travel again. (I'm a old truck driver & military.. traveling is in the blood.) I have seen all the highways and major cities in all 48, & 5 providences of Canada driving truck. (The wife has never been anywhere..) Now it's time to see the by-ways & all those parks I only dreamed about in the truck.
I look forward to seeing you out there, maybe our paths will cross? You never know it's a small world out there!
