New to IRV2

Hello my name is Joani and my husband is Alberto. We are second time RV owners. We purchased a 26' Four Winds RV about 20 years ago and sold it after several years due to non-use. Now that we are no longer employed we decided to purchase another RV. We bought a new to us 2012 Thor Freedom Elite 21C from Camping World in May 2014. Our first trip was for 3 weeks and was a successful and also a learning experience. We live in Idaho and went to Yellowstone (beautiful), then to North Dakota to visit relatives, Minnesota to visit son, and then to Louisville KY to visit my dad and more relatives. While in Ky went to Mammoth Cave (impressive). Everything worked in the RV except the microwave doesn't cook evenly. So we plan on replacing the microwave. I stubbed my toe too many times to count on the table holder insert by the dinette when we took out the table. Must find a solution to that. Once our RV smelled but that happened when our tanks were full so we dumped and no more smell. If you have any tips, comments, or just a welcome please post away. May you all be blessed with great memories and safe travels.

Welcome to irv2. We're glad you're both here. When both tanks are full and you have an odor , it's probably coming from the gray tank. The odor can come up through your sink and shower drains ( mostly ) when on the move. We had this happen and thereafter plugged all sinks and drains while driving . Water pump off when doing this.

Hi Joani & Alberto! Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join us!

I would suggest that you try the Happy Camper holding tank treatment. They give you a 100% money-back guarantee! We have been using it for years and NEVER have any odor!

https://www.5starhappycamper.com/

You can also now get this from Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&key...l_2cddr7ppf9_b

If you buy the 130 oz container from Amazon, that comes out to 53 cents per treatment. I think that's probably less than most anything else you will find out there!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Welcome! What part of North Dakota did you visit? I was stationed at Minot for 10 years--before the oil boom.
