New to iRV2
We are long time Rver's, we've visited/camped in all 48 states over the last 30 years, and Alaska is on the schedule for next year.
We just got back from our summer 8960 mile trip from North Florida up to Bonner's Ferry ID and back. We did our first real Boondocking with generally good results and definitely some learning experiences. Don't go down that unknown road before checking it out for one...heh.
We exchanged our old Titanium fiver for a newer used Arctic Fox 25Y TT and have to relearn how to back up TT's. Over the years we've had just about every type of towed RV: popups, hybrids (Trail Manor), fivers and now the AF. We are very happy with the AF so far tho it, like all RVs has some issues.
And since we got back I've been dealing with what happened down that unknown road. New leveling jack and new rear steps mainly. Plus a lot of minor fixes and DIY upgrades.
I'm retired from 32 years as an environmental chemist with a public utility and my wife can retire a year from September from the public schools. We want to do extended camping trips beyond the 6-7 weeks we've been doing in the summer. Probably not full timing since my wife requires frequent contact with the grandkids.
I'm also a Navy submariner veteran.
Alaska next year is my goal, we tried a couple years ago but brought the youngest kid with us, just out of high school, and one of his buddies. Made it to Banff when they ran out of enthusiasm. The Titanium was reaching the stage of repeated problems cropping up too. So we turned back.
I'm looking forward to being here. I've been very active on RV.Net since 2008.
