I finally moved up to a Fleetwood DP back in August of 2007. I owned a 2005 Cougar 5er as a starter, but had camped in a rented pop-up camper for a season. We needed to figure out what we wanted in an RV, floor plans, size, etc.

We do a fair amount of dry camping from October to April of each season --- dirt bike riding with friends in the deserts of California. We convert over resort camping at various venues in California, Arizona and Nevada.

We are in the beginning stages of planning a three week trip to Canada in 2008. We have much planning to do --- we need to research how far to travel each day enroute to Canada, as well as some nice parks to stay at with hook-ups.

I was referred to this site from a good friend of mine who is an active member and contributor. He has shared many pieces of information about camping, maintenance and food preparation which have been very helpful.

I hope to begin to contribute to some of the forums in the near future, as I see topics in which I can add some useful comments.

Thanks for all the helpful and technical advice from you "seasoned" rv'ers.
