New to RV-ing

Hello from Illinois. Cindy and I bought a used (61,000) 27' Brave Sport in July of this year. We had owned it for five days and were headed for Bristol, TN is see the Nascar race when the engine dropped a rod near Corbin, KY. We contacted the dealer we bought it through and he said that he couldn't think of a worse thing that could have happened and wished us luck in getting things straightened out. We bought it "AS IS" and that is what we got. Anyway, after $8,000.00 worth of expenses, we have a new engine in our MH. This is the first Class A we have ever had and even though we started our journey a little rough, we enjoyed it the rest of the summer. Before this, we toured on our motorcycle. It's kind of nice to know where you are going to sleep each night.

Sorry to hear about your problem with your new to you coach. I got lucky when we bought our first Motorhome and found out it was eligible for an extended warranty from Good Sam. For us it was a good idea. $3,000 for a trans, motel, towing and meals. Our cost was the $250 deductable.
It might just be a good idea to check and see if it's worth it to cover any future problems.

Sorry to hear about your poor start CharlieTwo. Just out of curiosity, what dealer did you purchase your coach from? While they may not have been legally responsible for your condition, they could have assisted in some manner.

Best wishes on your new adventures

The place is called Shabbona Creek RV. The salesman was a really nice guy (really). I never asked for anything and they never offered. I didn't get mad about it. It's how you handle bad situations that count. Easy times are something anybody can handle. IMO
I'd buy from them again but this time make sure there was some kind of warranty.
