New to RV Life... MA to Colorado in October

My husband and I are retired and live on Cape Cod in MA. Last April decided to join the RV world with the expectation of traveling out west this fall after we put the sailboat on the hard in late September.

We purchased a used GMC Diesel and Coachman Chapparal 5th wheel (2007), as we did not want to jump in over our heads, not knowing how we would enjoy this different lifestyle. Fortunately, he is a retired electrical engineer/electrician and and fix anything! I think we will need those skills along the way-- sounds like some days have their challenges.

We could surely benefit from others who have traveled from MA to Denver, Moab, and the South Rim and back in October/November.

We have joined Sam's Club and plan to join KOA, any other memberships advised that would help reduce expenses?

Are there any groups that travel together similar to our cruising clubs on the water? I am not interested in joining a planned caravan for thousands of $$.

Safe travels!

Welcome to our forum! There are other clubs such as Passport America that gives discounts and clubs connected to the manufacturer of your RV which are listed in other areas of this forum. You need to research to see what suits your camping lifestyle. Lots of good info on the pages!
