New To RVing

Hi All,

I am preparing to begin RVing and will probably ask many silly questions (starting with these) but here goes. Please be kind

What type of internet connections do you use/ recommend while on the road? i.e. mobile phone hot spot, wifi etc......

What do you recommend as the best services to television while on the road?

Thanks All!!

Mark

Welcome to IRV2. Everyone will have their own opinion, but we use Dish for sateillite and the localc antennae for local channels. Our ISP is ATT and we connect via WIFI.

Hi Mark! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the group! We use DirectTV in the RV because that's what we use at home. For internet we use a MiFi unit from C-Spire, which is a regional carrier with nation-wide agreements. We're having trouble with it right now and may end up going with a MiFi from Verizon. With the MiFi you can have up to five wireless devices and can select the data package you need.

BTW, I would suggest that you post future questions over in the appropriate areas of the forum for better results. Not too many folks hang out here! Good luck & God bless!

Welcome to the forum, just remember there is no such thing as silly questions, there are lots of new rv people here including myself. I have learned a lot from people asking questions.

Howdy and welcome! The good news is, many campgrounds provide cable TV and wifi.

Howdy and welcome aboard. Hope you enjoy your time on the site. We use a Verizon MIFI and are now looking into a tv system ourselves. Leaning toward Dish and maybe using a Tailgater. Good luck and have a great time.

Hi Mark:

We've been full timers since 05 and bounced around this N. American continent quite a bit using Direct T.V. and Verizon MiFi for internet through Mozilla Firefox. Have been very pleased with our Verizon connections almost everywhere including Alaska (well, most places in Alaska).

Enjoy your travels, and, oh yeah, Florida in the winter is a GOOD recommendation.

Steve & Lynette

We all started our RV travels with lots of questions...and yours are not that silly. Questions we faced when started RVing as well. We use DirecTV because that is our home service as well. We like our Verizon MiFi for travelling. As mentioned above some campgrounds do have cable/internet services, but we like State Parks...and most of the ones we've been to have neither. Plus with theMiFi I can use my computer while DH drives.

Keep asking questions....that's how we learn. Safe and happy travels to you.
