New to RVing

I have owned sail boats for many years and hoped to purchase a retirement boat to cruise the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean. However, my wife put the big stop to that so we looked around for something else we might both be amenable to. We decided that since my work had kept us on the East coast that purchasing an RV and touring the interior might be nice for a year or two prior to deciding where we would settle down. Although I have about 4 years of work left we started looking and found a slightly used 2010 Aspect 30C at a small consignment dealer just north of Sarasota about an hour from us. We drove up and fell for the coach immediately. I have been joining and signing up for things since we bought it along with National, State and Local WIT, Good Sams, and other things along with iRV2 which brought me to this forum. We have taken the rig to a few camp grounds for short stays and like to do day trips to an island on the causeway to Sanibel Island which is just down the road from our home in Ft Myers. We set up camp and stay the whole day for just the cost of the toll. This gets us used to putting out the awning and running the generator and systems, it is a very nice way to learn about the way thing work.

Rich;

Welcome to irv2. We are glad you found us. Congratulations on the purchase of your Aspect. I think you are smart on taking small trips while getting used to your new rig. I believe you will enjoy the life style.
