New to RV'ing in AZ

Hello all. Just got back from our first trip in our (new to us) 2001 Itasca Sunrise - we are a family of 4 a bit younger than the majority of the folks at the RV park we were at, me being early 40's with 12 & 5 year old kids.

We've been avid campers around Arizona for years, finally decided to step up into the RV world and loved every minute of our weekend away.

Lovin the RV lifestyle.

You choose to be here in the Summer? Have you ever been here in the Summer before? lol.

That's pretty much why we got the RV, to get the hell away from the heat in the Summer.

Welcome and congrats on the coach!

Tony... We wintered in AZ for two winters before deciding to move here and buy a house. We did our house hunting in middle of summer, while living in our 44' HR Endeavor. Good thing it had 3 AC units. Summer in the Valley of the Sun is quite demanding on an RV housing.

Plenty comfortable being in a home here in summer, but in an RV, you'll be running the AC probably 24/7 and if you have no shade... It can be intense.

If your rig only has 2 AC units, you might decide to rethink summering in here in an RV.

We love living here and wouldn't have it any other way. During summer of 2013 when we were house hunting and living in the coach we discovered that summer here is hot, but not deathly so. People are out and about going about their business as usual.

But just like RVing in snow and ice in winter, RVing in either extreme of temperatures is more stressful and not as easy and comfortable as RVing in more temperate climates.

In the summer time head to the White Mountains to cool off.
