New to RVing...moving in to mine in December
Hi everyone, I'm new to RVing and am excited! I'll be moving into a 27' 1984 Winnebago Chieftain in December (hopefully sooner) once it is roadworthy. I plan on living in it full-time in my local area with the potential for travel later on down the road. I would love to hear from others who have made the transition to a home on wheels, and any advice is welcome!

Welcome.......My husband and I bought a 1984 Beaver motorhome about 4 yrs ago( by the way this is as old as my son.......LOL) We downsized and let daughter and her family move in to the stick house. We both travel with our jobs.....separately. So I decided to buy my self a travel trailer since renting was way too high while I am on assignment.....way much cheaper..........We love it but whats funny after we were married we lived in a travel trailer for a couple of years that belonged to his uncle. I say we started out in a TT and have ended up in one. After we retire his dream is to follow the NHRA around the country.........LOL

Howdy and welcome to the forum. Congrats on your purchase and hope it all works out for you. I'm sure you'll get some info on the fulltime experience. We are 1/2 timers as we spend only 6 months a year in ours now. If the housing market ever straightens out in our area maybe the S&B can go on the market and be sold so we could join the rest of the fulltime community. Have fun.

From the far side....
Welcome to the group.
Your plans are similar to what I have in mind. Please post your progress on all of it. I'm away from the US for now and it's great to read what others in the real world are doing. I have an 89 model that I've only used once and it was great. Looking forward to that again one day in the future.
Stay safe out there....
Ken

Heading out in a few hours on deployment due to Hurricane Sandy. Looks like my "move-in" plans will be delayed for a couple months until I get back home. I'll keep everyone posted on the progress. My ex-husband is working on the Chieftain for me and did get the engine to start on Saturday...yayyy!
