New to RVs
Hi, we are planning our first trip with a class C motorhome. We have some concerns, because we bought it used, and are going through it carefullly. Hopefully we will get some good tips here.

Welcome!
As long as you keep the maintenance up, you need not worry. Fear not....at the end of the day, it's still just a van (with a sink and a bed), and the same rules that apply to any car apply to it. Many issues you can tackle yourself. For those you can't, hopefully someone here can steer you right.
Keep your oil changed, trans fluid clean, and roof sealed (caulked). If you have a generator, keep the oil topped up. As simple as that most of the time. Your main responsibility is to just have fun!! that'll take up the bulk of your time :P

Try a night of redneck camping as we call it....camp in your driveway and get to know it...don't go inside the house for this and that....keep a note pad handy of everything you don't have that your wanting as you sit in the driveway

Hi folks! Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join us! I would suggest posting your questions in the specific areas of the forums for better answers. Not too many folks hang out here. Good luck & God bless!

Check the dates on the tires.....been there done that with a small Class C last year. Tires Looked Great, right up until it threw tread and belts all over the wheel well and took out a support.. Long story, sold the unit after we got back home, (Yes I told the new owner of the problems I knew about, long story) and he had another tire blow out on the way home.. Anyway enjoy the rig, I have been haunting around here for some time, and finally joined not to long ago, suppose I should check in sometime

Agree on the tire issue. Anything else happens it is just an inconvenience and you'll have fun stories. Tire issues though can be life threatening. If you aren't sure about age, have them checked, if you have any doubts, change them. Welcome to the forum and happy camping!

I checked mine a year later and realized the tires were 5-8 years old. I went to Firestone bought some Primewell HT's all around. Cost me $1062. Not bad.
