Hello all,
I am a recently retired math teacher. I cannot believe that I don't have to go back to work in a couple of weeks!

My husband and I(neither of us have camped since we were teenagers living at home) just bought our first RV, a 2004, 30', Winnebago Sightseer with just over 10,000 miles on it. My DH parents bought it for their dream trip out west and really loved it, unfortunately his Mom lost her battle with brain cancer over spring break but I am glad they enjoyed it. My father-in-law offered it to us at a great price and we feel really lucky to get it. We picked it up and took our maiden voyage on it at Myrtle Beach the end of the week. We did not arrive home until the wee hours yesterday so stayed at the nearby Walmart because we have a very steep driveway and our neighborhood does not have street lights. We got up at 7am and my hubby backed it up the hill like a pro - we were so glad that it did not drag because we preferred to keep it here.

auntsis, welcome to iRV2. We are glad to have you join us here and look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. You say that you live with a very steep driveway. Just a reminder for you not to operate the refrigerator unless the rig is level; very important. Hope you will enjoy your new rig and visit with us often on the forum.

I retired in April, 2003 . . . I'm thinking you're going to love it like me It took a little while to get accustomed to no work, but now I'd squawk if you made me go back! Good luck and have fun

Thank you for the warm welcome. We went on our second trip (if you count the one when we picked it up) to Cozy Acres in Powhatan, VA. It is just 1/2 hour from home but Gerald had to work on Saturday. I had a lot of fun - all my "neighbor" campers were so helpful - it was obvious that I'm a newbee. Eveyone is so friendly. I definately love retirement and camping.
