Hi, my name is Rick. My wife Julia and I just bought our 500mile, brand new 2005 Dolphin 5376 last week. We've been talking about another motorhome for a year and we finally did it. Retired from corporate life at age 50, we moved from Morgan Hill Ca. to Prescott AZ last year. We now work from home as reps for Neways intl., www.livesafeandhealthy.net. Our company allows us to travel and do what we please and we do. We look forward to spending time here on the board. Our first adventure is back in California to help out the company I left last year. We'll be staying at the Betabel RV park for 4 months, while I help out at our old company. After that we'll head south for winter. Thanks for all the great topics and people that post such great info. I hope we can contribute.

Rick, WELCOME to iRV2!!

We're glad you're here!!

There are many great folks just like yourself that visit every day to share their experience with their RV and also to learn more about the issues they might either have questions or problems with...

On the main iRV2 page we even have the U.S. divided up into regions to promote gathering together with one another...

We also have a National Rally page at the top of the main page, we're just home from Sevierville Tennessee and are looking forward to

Thanks to everyone. While we are in California, I'm doing a few things to the coach. Number one on my list is to fix the latch on the entry door. The striker does not completely engage in to the striker plate. I don't have enough adjustment to make it work, so I'm going to remove a little of the back half of the plate with a dremel tool. While under way from AZ to CA, I noticed the door popped open twice. I had to dead bolt it to stop that from happening. It amazes me how some things are overlooked at the factory. I also took care of 7 of the major rattle offenders as well. I also noticed how hard the chassis was riding and upon ispection I found the tires inflated to 125 lbs. I have them dropped to 100lbs and now the unit rides much better. I'm still getting to know the coach but one thing still eludes me. I have two ceiling light fixtures near the front of the interior that I can not find a switch for. The switches on the fixtures do not work and there are no apparent wall mounted switches that control them. It's starting to be the joke of the hour at the dinner table. We'll be parked for the next few months before our next journey. Thanks again for the kind welcome.

Rick,
I have the same motorhome. The switch for the two forward lights are on the left as you enter the coach. There is a panel of about 6 switches for the battery disconnect, compartment lights, porch light etc. On mine the switch is in the bottom row in the center. It is labeled "ceiling". If you flip it on and the lights don't come on, the on/off switch may be turned off at the light.

I'm back in Prescott today and the coach is in San Juan Buatista Ca. I'm headed there on Saterday. I did find a switch were you said to look but it turned on the ceiling light by the kitchen and the one to rear of that. The switch seemed to be one of those 3 way types, where as the switch by the control panel between the bath and dinette would also turn those two lights on and off. I'll go over it again when I get back to California. Got any clue how I can fix my door latch to close properly?

The switches that I was referring to are just inside the entry door, on the left, above the cabinet door in the stair well. There are two rows of 3 switches each. The one for the front lights is in the bottom row, middle switch. The switch that turns on the kitchen & other light (that you mentioned)is located on the same wall but near the end of the cabinet (near the counter extension)& your correct, about it being a three way.

well, as luck had it, I went over to the dealer that I bought the coach from today. I had to pick up a few things and while there I found another dolphin on the lot. The switch is right where you said it was. Now,,,,coming from an engineering background, I had to ask myself why on earth didn't they place that switch with the one for the galley? That being said,,,thank you for your help. I'll be headed back to california in the morning and have a list of things that I will fix, that the factory didn't didn't seem to find important enough on their own.
