Hi all. My name is Dan and I'm new to this forum and wanted to tell you a little about myself with this introduction.

I live in Southeast Texas and have been an RV owner for some 25 years. I started out with a pickup truck cabover camper in the early 1980's when my 4 boys were small. We had previously camped in a tent and the camper was really uptown for us. As they got bigger, we decided to get our first Motorhome, a 1983 Allegro 29 foot gasser on a Chevy chassis. My next Motorhome, for my wife and I after the kids were all grown up, was a 1998 Allegro 26 foot gasser also on a Chevy chassis. I sold it and bought a 2008 32 foot Pilgrim Travel Trailer in 2010 and used it for about a year. My second son started surveying for a pipeline company and needed a travel trailer to live in, so I sold him mine since he was using it anyway, and we had decided we preferred a Motorhome. So, we just purchased a 2000 American Dream, our first diesel pusher and are looking forward to traveling in it.

Dan

We have a rally Oct. 14 - 16 in San Marcos. There is still time to sign up. Why don't you use that brand new rig and join us? Most of us are friendly. We always have a good time!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Barbara, thanks for the invite to the get together in San Marcos. We love to go there and have Son who lives in Austin. However, my wife and I will be on our way to Dallas for our grandson's birthday party and then on to Colorado for a week. Maybe we can make the next one.

Fletch,

Thanks for the welcome. Glad to know someone close by. It is a big step up for us as you can see from my original post. We went looking for another gas coach and looked at a bunch of them before finding this one. It was so close in price to the ones we were looking at but was so much nicer, even though it was a couple of years older, that we just couldn't pass it up. We know maintenance costs will be higher than a gas MH but this one should last us for many years to come. It only has 35,000 miles on it which is not even broken in for a diesel. Maybe we can get together some time. I'd love to meet you.

Dan

welcome to the group. we are currently at the national rally here in Virginia. lots of great people and good times. This is our first rally and highly suggest you might consider coming to the one in 2012 when it is announced. Great looking coach you have and safe travels.
