New to the RV way of life!

Hi all -

New to the forums and new to the RV way of life. My husband and I just purchased a 2016 Coachmen Pursuit - already planning some great trips!

We're completely new to the RV world. I'd say most of the time we'll be camping in parks about 15 minutes from our house, but would love to travel the country.

A few questions - and maybe this isn't the right place for this, so please let me know. I'm new to forums in general.

We will be traveling with our 18 month old. We have her in a rear-facing carseat in the car. The carseat does both rear-facing and forward-facing.

The reason we went with the RV we did was because the seats/belts are secured to the chassis instead of just a wood frame. Our biggest question is, where is the best place for the carseat?

I've perused many places on the interwebs and know that most people come to the conclusion that you should buy a trailer and a truck, but that just wasn't what we wanted. So...that aside...fully aware that we're terrible, awful people for putting our child at such risk (insert sarcasm) - have any of you travelled with small children?

Our options are the co-pilot seat and turn off the airbags, the couch or the dinette.

Any help would be great - we're excited to be part of this community!

Glad to have you here with us in the forum.

You're gonna get a thousand different opinions on this subject. I would opt for the passenger seat with the air bags turned off.

Congrats on the new RV. Best of luck with it.

Happy Trails!!!

We traveled with my ex-girlfriend's two-year-old in his car seat secured at the dinette (my unit comes with a toggle strap ring) with no problem. All we had to do was to lower the table. He faced forward.
