new to the Site and RV's

Hi my name is John and i recently purchased an old RV for my wife and I (and little one on the way) to make our camping trips a little more civilized. I have never even been in an RV before let alone owned one but I am hoping to learn a lot because i like to do most of my own work on my vehicles.

It's a 1975 Dodge sportsman 360 with Triple E Mikmak camper. It has 11300 miles and I think I got a good deal on it for $1500 canadian it runs and drives great. My mechanic gave me a modest list of repairs for safety but unfortunately some of the repairs involve electrical stuff which is an area I know little about. I will have to find the appropriate category and post some questions about troubleshooting soon so i can get her on the road and pulling my boat to the lake.

HI John,

This group has a wealth of information to share so ask if you need any.

Looks like you got a fair deal on the Class C. Be sure to check the date on the tires. They recommend replacing RV tires at 5 to 7 years of age depending on cracking of the sidewalls.

Howdy and welcome. Congrats on the rig! Be sure to check the front window in the "cabover" since those are notorious for leaking.

Hello John and congrats on the new camper and the new little caboose. I am new also don't even have my camper yet but I have been studying everything I can find. Looks like you got a bit of a sag going there over the cab you need to fix real quick before it get water logged. Good luck with the repairs these things sound like they can get confusing.

Hi John, welcome to the forum. Any that runs for $1,500 is a bargain. You'll get her fixed up. You and the family enjoy.
