New to the site, Howdy
Welp, as it goes, I'm new to this site.
My name is Dave. I'm a recent graduate of Washington State University, currently working as a Project Engineer for a construction company in the Seattle area.
I'm a member of a number of GM truck sites and have been for years. I've RVed my entire lift with my parents, so this stuff is nothing new to me. I've found a few links to this forum over the course of my recent "project" and decided to come aboard, hopefully to help share my information with others out there and maybe learn a few things.
Oh yeah, my "project." Over a year ago I bought a 1978 Nomad 19' trailer for $250. I bought it knowing that it had serious rot, figured I'd spend a minimal amount and have a useable trailer in the end. Well it grew tremendously. I plan to make a good posting of the story leading up to how she sits today.
Some things I've done: rebuilt floor & walls, 4" lift & larger tires, full homemade interior and exterior LED lighting, upgraded the wiring, custom media center, and fully-refinished the interior (which is still in progress).
Then:
After some lovin. the outside hasn't changed much aside from a 4" lift, larger tires and touched up paint. Inside is a different story (ignore the interior mess, still in process):
Depending on the trip, one of two rigs will pull her.
My pride and joy, 1988 GMC Sierra with a 8" lift and solid axle conversion. (now you see why I lifted the trailer too).
The primary tow vehicle, a 1999 Chevy Silverado 6.5L diesel
So, that is my story. Looking forward to contributing when I have time. I hope you'll find my trailer interesting, as not many I know of restore trailers of this vintage.

Welcome,
You're doing an outstanding job on the upgrades. I'm sure you will have some great times in that rig.

Howdy Dave and welcome! What a great job you've done on that TT! You might want to check out the Vintage Owner's section...there are several "projects" underway with those guys. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Nice job, Dave. I hate to admit that there was a time I would have bought that trailer because of the spiffy interior. Brings back memories.

Nice job on the trailer. A lot of folks would have junked the rig and moved on. Some of your best memories will include good times with that trailer.

Welcome aboard, Dave. Like History said, c'mon down south, and you can work on the thing year 'round... well, that may not be the best advertisement.
You've got a good start at it, and I look forward to seeing it come along.
Have fun with it.
