Hello from the Heart of the Ouachita Mountains, deep in the Arkansas Outback.
My wife Betty and I are fulltimers and somewhat retired workampers. We manage a 50 campsite campground up high in the Rocky Mountains, above 10 thousand feet, beside a trout filled lake, off of the grid, during the Summer. In the Fall we work the sugar beet harvest up in North Dakota, not too far from the Canadian border. In the Winter we work the CHRISTmas rush season for Amazon.com. Then we hurry home for a extended visit with Kinfolks in Arkansas. After the hollidays, we Winter up on the Padre Island National Seashore. We generally work sporadicly for seven months and loaf for the rest of the year. Coming from blue collar working roots, working isnt as much of a necessity for us, as it is a way of life. We find that remaining productive is important to us, and, we feel strongly that if "ya' don't use it, ya' loose it !"
We recently found these forums and are currently doing a lot of "catch up" reading.
As we read through thread after thread, we are impressed with the vast wealth of knowlege posted here by members. Life is a continuous learning process and look forward to these forums being a good part of that for us.

Welcome. Those fish you and your wife are holding remind me of the Catfish my GranPa would catch in the Ouachita River near Arkadelphia.

Thanks for the welcome, we caught those two last week at Lake Greeson, not too far from Arkladelphia.
We nearly always put back anything over 25 pounds. Our largest to put back last week was a 46 pounder.
Those that we are holding are 14 pounds each. Maybe we will meet up for some catfishin' sometime !
