New to this site!

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this site and look forward to sharing experiences with all of you - new and old!

My wife and I have been into RV camping for almost 3 years now. We began with a new 37' Itasca Meridian Diesel and really like driving as much, if not more so, than actually stopping and camping. We live in Southern California and have travelled in our rig to such far away places as Toronto, Virginia Beach, and Portland, Oregon. Given that diesel fuel is climbing toward $4.00/gallon, we may be doing more "camping" and less "driving" in the coming months!!

Look forward to visiting with you all in the coming weeks!

John

Welcome aboard! I have to tell you though, you 'cheated'. Many, if not most, of us started with a tent and worked our way up through successive rigs to get to something as nice as you started with. Another way to look at it, you were just smarter than most of us!

Loved our tenting days, but now that we hope to live on the road, the big rig diesel is the way to go. May you enjoy many happy (s)miles in yours.

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll find it very intriguing and informative as we have. Hey keep us posted on the "must see" California campgrounds and area, never been there so...... you never know.

Cheers to many more starry nights and warm campfires.

No cheating here I have done my share of tinting I gave all my camping tinting stuff to my Sis! When my kids where small we tinted it all the time and then we got a tiny truck camper! After my x and I divorced I bought more camping stuff and that is stuff my Sis has now!!

Thanks for the welcome!

As far a nice campgrounds are concerned, two of our favorites are Emerald Desert Resort in Palm Desert (near Palm Springs) and Chula Vista RV Resort just outside of San Diego

Welcome John,
The wife and I started with a DP also. We looked at travel trailers, 5th wheels, class C's as well as gas powered class A's before deciding on the DP before we bought. Haven't regretted that decision. Drop us a line if you get over our way.
