New to Us 2005 Journey..

Hello new friends!!

We were so excited to take delivery of our 2005 Journey yesterday . Yes she is an older gal but in great shape and came with extensive maintenance records. Her previous owner loved her as much as I'm sure we will. But then I discovered today that I must get a class B license to drive her!! Yikes!! I was told I didn't have to by the dealer. But I stopped by the DPS office anyway. Their booklet on CDL, is confusing. Can anyone give me some inside on how difficult it is?? I don't do tests well lol!!

Thanks and hope to see you down the road!!

Welcome. It might help if you mention which state you are in.

I am in WI, they only require a license if you are over 26 K GVR and in excess of 45 feet.

Welcome and congrats on your Journey. We love ours. The CDL issue varies across the nation. Check out this web site. I am not a lawyer or a State Trooper, but the way I read the info on this site is in Texas you need a special license if your MH is over 26,001 pounds and you are towing > 10,000 pounds. Your Journey will be over the 26k but I don't know that you will be towing more than 10k. I would talk to the DMV and let them know your exact situation before I would get a special license. JMO....
