New tow vehicle, new camper, new user

Hi, all.

My family and I have been popup camping for about 3 years, starting with a super cheap 1992 Coleman Arcadia, and then upgrading to a newer (and more expensive) 2006 Fleetwood Graphite just a month later when we realized how much we would love it. We recently sold the Fleetwood and purchased our third trailer, a 2016 Keystone Summerland Mini 1800BH.

A few months ago, our tow vehicle was a 2008 Honda Odyssey EX, with about 175k miles on it. We upgraded to a 2009 Chevy Suburban (white, tan interior, 5.3L, HD towing pkg, 4x4, rear entertainment, Z71), which allowed us to start looking for a heavier trailer.

We attended an RV show last fall, and that showed us that our goal was a small bunkhouse. Small because we prefer living (cooking, eating) outside, and only changing and sleeping inside. Bunkhouse because we have 3 children. Apex Nano 193BHS and Micro Minnie Winnie 2100BH were favorites, but weren't things we could afford.

We finally found a deal on the 1800BH, and it suits us very well. We've already been camping in it once, and look forward to many years of enjoyment in this new-to-us camper.

I also hope to be able to contribute to the forums here.

Happy camping!

As you have discovered, camping is a disease that gets progressively worse but there is no better way to make memories with the kids as they grow up. Sounds like you're treating it right and welcome to the forum.

Yes, definitely enjoy having them all together while you can . . . and hopefully later they'll start out with their own cheap 1992 Coleman and join you in the next space over.

Welcome aboard!
