New trailer

Just brought home a Cherokee 304R with a 2015 Ford F150 with a 3.5 Ecoboost. Everybody involved, truck dealer and service and RV dealer said truck would do it. Well it pulled OK but it was very squirrely. Any comments?

Glad to have you here with us.

At the top of the page you'll see a tab for RV Forums. In the drop down you'll see a tab for travel trailer discussions. Asking questions there will certainly speed up your responses.

Best of luck with your new Cherokee, and Happy Trails!!

Exactly what do you mean by "squirrely"? Sway, pitching, lack of power on hills, not stopping properly? There are cures for all these symptoms but we need to know what we are trying to fix.
Welcome to the forums.

Squirrely

It felt like the front wheels were not on the ground. It does have the Max trailer tow package from Ford and everything points to it being capable od doing the job

Do you have a weight distributing hitch? Sway control? I hope so, that trailer has a dry weight of 8000lbs.

Not only should you have this type hitch and sway control but it must be properly adjusted so the truck and trailer are riding level.

New trailer

1) you'll get a better response if your post is moved to the trailer towing forum.

2) if you don't have a weight distributing + sway control hitch you MUST get one.

3) if you have a WD hitch it may not be properly set up. My hitch was set up by the dealer using their standard setup. I thought the steering was a little light. When I finally weighed my rig at a cat scale I found the steering axle load was 100 lbs lighter with the trailer attached. I added another washer to the hitch (equalizer) which shifted more weight to the front wheels.

There are a lot of knowledgable people in this forum. The more information you can provide on your rig the better. You will get some good answers here
