I have been referencing this website for a few months now and decided to join. I have been in the wrecking yard business for 20 years now and have always wanted to build a motor home. This year I finally bought one, a 2001 Monaco Diplomat LE. It was a kitchen fire but it only damaged the interior, absolutely no fiberglass damage. Like all hobbies of mine when I get started I dont stop. So I bought a 2002 Diplomat that was driven into a ditch so I could get all the interior items I might need, then I bought an 02 horizon with a rear bedroom fire, you just dont know when you might need an extra part. Well yesterday I bought a 2008 Diplomat that was burned in the rear. Not sure if I should put the updated front cap and make my 2001 a quad slide. Anyways I have a lot of extra parts available. My original plan was to have the 2001 finished this winter for some travel this summer when the kids get out of school. Everyone I have met so far that deals with motorhomes has been real nice and I hope this experience for my family and myself is a positive one.

Welcome to iRV2. We are glad you decided to join us. I don't recall ever having read a post about taking on a project like yours. You may not receive a lot of advice and it sure sounds challenging. Post often and share your project with us. Don't be afraid to ask questions as we have a responsive group here who like to help when they can.

Welcome to iRV2! We are glad you have finally decided to join in all the fun we have here!

You should really come on down to the Monaco Forum and read away. The folks there have lots of info to share.

I do have a question for you... you have 4 RVs...all have been damaged somehow or another....How many of them have "salvaged" titles? I would put the one together that does NOT have a salvaged title if there is one.... Good Luck on your project!

Again-welcome to the forum...we hope you visit & post often.

Remember the Johnny Cash song about the Psychodellic Cadillac? When you get yours all together it may be similar. Good luck to you and welcome to the forum.
