Newbee making cross country

My wife and I flew to San diego to visit our son last month and bought his neighbors 1996 gulf stream scenic cruiser. We have never "rv'd" but will be flying back next month to pick it up and drive it back home to South Carolina! My son is getting it checked out for me; is there any advice that you can share on what we want to concentrate on. The rig has new tires and has been well loved.

As for the trip, we are looking at taking 9 days, and want to see as much as we can without wearing ourselves out.

Thanks in advance,

Bill & Liz Lowery

If this is your first experience with RV'ing, I would strongly recommend taking a one day driving course. I have plenty of experience towing boats, etc, but when I purchased my first RV and was driving it back from Dallas, I tangled with an eight inch cement filled pipe that protects the pump at a gas station and did 23k of damage to my RV.

Beileve there are a couple of schools in the San Diego area.

Enjoy

Rick
