Welcome Mikeyk58, like most newbies you are reluctant to add much detail about yourself or your camping unit. You may note most of us have info on what we camp in, drive, pull etc. This comes in handy as questions arise about your unit. I too was reluctant till I truly needed help! You will find this site to be very knowledgable, friendly and sometime entertaining! Again welcome.

Welcome to the forum! I'm certain the salesman/previous owner gave you an exhaustive orientation of your new rig, now comes the fun part of learning all the little things they didn't tell you about.

Maiden voyage

Ty everyone for your replays. A little more about rig. And tow vehicle we have a. Starcraft travel star 24dss. And r pulling it with a 01 chevy silver ado 1500 4x4. We went out on our Maiden voyage this weekend. I woulda posted from campground ,but we had no WIFI. Let me say we had a fantastic time. Took a little time to get hooked up. And to get unhooked. Kinda fumbled our way thru both. We only went about 58 miles from the house on this trip..wanted to keep it close for the first trip Lol. I wanna say I am totally hooked. On this kind of camping. Being an old tent camper, there is no comparison. Being able to have a a bathroom, for showering and *#£€¥. Plus ac. Not to mention a queen sized bed. It rained everyday, but we stayed high and dry. We camped with our dogs. A pit bull, hound dog mix and shiatsu. And they loved it to. We had to take em out about 4 times a day to do there buisness. We took our dog crate. Kept the critters outside with us ,when we were out there.. The weekend went way to fast. I think if I could retire tomorrow I would. And just travel around. That's the plan for us in about 11yrs. Will post some pics as soon as I figur out how to. Lol. Stay tuned !

I can remember the first night it rained and we were in our first camper, DW and I both woke up, sit up and started pulling things away from the walls as if we were in a leaking tent! Finally realizing where we were we both died out laughing! Now we love the sound of rain falling on the roof.

Might I suggest you learn the hook and unhook procedure together, this makes it go faster, but more importantly gives a second set of eyes on each item. Nothing worse that going under a limb and wondering, did I lower that tv antenna. We use a check off list, we can go through everything now without the list but still mark it before we roll, that makes sure we haven't forgotten anything.

Have fun!
