Smile Newbie

I may be lucky enough to not only buy a trailer, but also become a full timer. I joined here to learn about what I'm getting myself into. My ex-wife and I drove all over the US and Canada as truck drivers, but only so much can be seen from the interstate. I won't be looking to actually buy until after the new year, and I don't think I'm in a big hurry, but it's exciting to think about all the places I could go!

1bigmess.....we have been full-timing for just over a year. As a truck driver, you know there are just some places you could not take your rig. Our first day on the road, the dear wife wanted to "see" America. Let me just say, you shouldn't take a 36ft motorhome towing a Honda Fit onto the mountain back roads of West Virginia either! Once my DW pried my hands from the wheel and I surveyed the roof for damage from the tree trimming we did; we agreed - NEVER again. No matter what you are driving or towing, my newly acquired practice is my advice to you: Stay on the larger roads while getting to your destination campground; then take the toad/truck out on the scenic routes and explore. Nonetheless, you will enjoy. Be safe, be careful and good luck in your new adventures!

Yup, the truck didn't go many places. We'd call Enterprise car Rental, they picked us up!

Thank you. I hope that starting here before I buy will get me started on the right foot and make life more enjoyable.

I've been wanting to live like this since I was a kid, taking family vacations to Red's Meadow in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. After driving all over US and Canada for a living, I was left with so many places I need to go back and see.
