Newbie

Just joined forum. We are in the process of finding a RV. Don't want to waste anybody's time. Will likely just lurk. But...
We seem to be likeing the Fleetwood Bounder floor plan. We plan to buy an older unit (2000 or so) to start and would appreciate any feedback you can offer like reliability and trouble spots to look for etc.

Jeff

Yates RI, I was just wondering if you are in RI or does it mean something else. Regardless welcome and please come back and visit often. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

You might also check Bounders United and Bounders of America (Google) for some insight on thier rigs from Bounder Club members.

The Bounder is one of the best selling Class A motorhomes or all time.

Welcome to the forum! Don't worry about wasting anyone's time... just ask the questions that are on your mind. As Driver pointed out, with so many Bounders on the road they have to have something good going for them!

Good Luck...

Rick

You are correct - We live in Rhode Island.

I have some more questions.
How can I rationalize the cost of fuel to my wife? She thinks that we can stay in motels for what it costs to feed one of these things. Does pulling a tow car affect fuel consumption much? Can any other vehicles other than Saturn and jeep be flat towed?

Jeff

Oh, Jeff, don't try to rationalize the purchase of a coach based upon cost savings vs staying in hotels... the numbers just won't work. I believe that for one to be happy with their coach purchase they have to purchase it because they are looking forward to the RV lifestyle.... not as a way to save money. The impact of towing a car will have on mpg will depend on how large a coach you purchase. Most bigger diesels don't report much more than .5mgp drop. I can't comment on the impact it has on a gas coach.

I would change your marketing strategy with the DW so you focus on the "adventure and romance".
