Smile Newbie - from Canada buying in the USA

Hi there - not sure if this is an ok spot to ask.

But - we are wondering if any one can recommend a mechanic in Concord NC to do an inspection on a 31 ft toy hauler we are looking to buy from (Tom Johnson) Flying down tomorrow - with the intent on driving back. We have all the paper work in order - just want to be sure it is in as good a condition they say it is in. Thank you!
Renee

Welcome to the group. I live to far north but hopefully someone will chime in that can help you that lives near. Good luck.

Hello mrfie! Sorry can't help, but wanted to welcome you to IRV2. From what I have heard Tom Johnson is a reputable dealer. Good luck and hope to see you on the road someday.

Welcome Mrfie. Hope all goes well with your import. We just went through the same thing last month when we brought back a Winnebago from Massachusetts. It was an ebay purchase through a reputable dealer. His 100% feedback rating and his record with the BBB convinced us to go through with the deal sight unseen. The coach was as described with no surprises and ran like a dream on the 900 mile trip back here to Nova Scotia. I would not hesitate on making a purchase like this again. Good luck but I know you will be fine with a reputable dealer.

It seems kind of late to worry about it now! I wish you the best of luck with your trip back, BTDT with good results (California to Michigan).

So well - we did it! Just little by some standards - but huge for us! 31C Ford 450 FunMover. Now on the long trip home. Bill Brown was our salesman at Tom Johnson's and was really nice and very helpful - we didn't pretend we knew anything about RV's and got lost of advise.

I found a couple small things that got broken over night and were repaired right away. We will have one issue to take take of when we get home - mold in the sleeper cabin above the cab. The window seal had been fixed but not the damage. Sprayed it with a natural cleaner with cedre and clary sage (Trader Joes) and most of the mold smell is gone. There wasn't much but still not a place to sleep.

Touch wood everything is has gone well - second night on the road. Just before Jackson Tn. we got pulled over - probably cause of the paper plates. But we didn't put up any fuss over inspecting the vehicle and it went ok. Freaked me out though. sheesh lol
